Chris Jackson is an artist who creates sculptures and installations via exhibitions, residencies, workshops and events across the UK. He lives and works in Norwich.
"In my work cardboard, string and glue are the materials of an architectural utopia. Lumpen, ephemeral forms become places of exploration and exotic adventure. These assemblages are the product of un-formed, un-realisable desires and sensations - tools or props for a future expedition into some distant yet familiar place. The creation of these shambolic worlds involves the slow accretion of mundane materials (dried foodstuffs, studio floor detritus) through which they evolve in spontaneous ways. Using historical motifs and symbols like heraldic shields, gothic ruins and temples these works explore contested notions of value and memory".
